Id Pro Quo 2022 Creator Letter

Before anything else, I want to be clear that all of the following likes, preferences, and prompts are solely to help guide you if you’re looking for some direction. As long as you stay away from the DNWs, I am totally happy to read anything you come up with for me. If you read my prompts and think, uh-oh, that’s not the direction I wanted to go — not a problem, go your own direction!
OK, that out of the way, I’ve listed some general likes and preferences below, followed by more specific likes and prompts for each request. Some of the items below may be in direct conflict with each other, and that’s just because my interests and likes are broad and wide-ranging. You could never use all of this in a single fic, and I wouldn’t expect anyone to try!

I love this pairing more than is sane or reasonable. Pretty much anything you do with it will be great, and I will so vastly appreciate it. I have been on board for this ship ever since their first meeting in front of The Fighting Temeraire, when Bond tells Q all he sees is a “bloody big ship.” There’s a ridiculous amount of chemistry between them in that scene, and I was off and running! I love scenarios where one or both of them is pining for the other, I love hurt/comfort between them (with an emphasis on the comfort!), and I love references to their size difference. I’m not sure about the actors, but certainly in the films, Bond is portrayed as athletic and big, and Q is more willowy. If you choose to incorporate the big-dick tags, I’d prefer to have Bond be the one with the big dick. (You can give Q one too, if you want.)I have not yet seen No Time to Die, FYI, although I’m okay if you want to incorporate it and spoil it as I’m not worried about spoilers. (Also more than okay if you want to ignore it, of course.)

Once again, I am requesting my guilty pleasure ship. If you write me a story for this ship, bless you. I love all the usual tropes around this ship, like Tony picking out Peter's clothes for him or being a de facto sugar daddy. I love Peter being head over heels for Tony but thinking he's unattainable, but Tony loves him back but hates himself for it. I love mutual pining, I love intense suit-measuring situations, I love hurt/comfort. About the only thing I don't like in this ship is a dark Tony who is predatory/dubcon/noncon against Peter. I usually love dubcon/noncon but not in this ship. Also not a huge fan of the other Avengers acting as matchmakers. In terms of relative ages, obviously this is frequently an underage ship, and I'm okay with that but please make Peter at least 16. If you want to age him up, that's cool too, although please keep him a relatively young man (<25 or so)

I am fine with literally any level of consent in this ship, from two fully consenting partners, to Venom just having his way with Eddie against Eddie’s protests. (But I would prefer it if Eddie manages to have a good time eventually.) You could do a love story, an action-adventure story, a porn without plot featuring lots of xeno and tentacles…or any combination of the above.

Not gonna lie, John de Lancie’s portrayal of Q was a formative part of my sexual awakening. Watching him strut around the bridge of the Enterprise, taunting and draping himself all over Picard, and watching Picard try and fail over and over again not to get sucked into his schemes….it’s just *chef’s kiss*. I’d love to see an exploration of the “I hate you but I’m drawn to you” dynamic between these two. Q is clearly obsessed with humanity in general, but with Picard very specifically, and you get the sense that on some level, Picard is preening with the attention. Obviously there’s a huge power imbalance between the two, so it might be fun to see Picard try to think his way around Q’s machinations even though Q is literally omnipotent (but not quite omniscient). Or maybe it’s a scenario where Q has lost his Q powers either permanently or temporarily, and how that changes the dynamic between them. Dubcon and noncon are both totally OK, although I would prefer Picard to at least eventually enjoy himself.

For this pairing, I really like scenarios involving banter (angry or otherwise), hurt/comfort, McCoy mending Spock’s injuries, mutual pining, or being trapped together somewhere. I had never considered this ship before seeing it pop up in the nominations, but my imagination immediately ran wild with it. How would Arcade and Caesar wind up together? Maybe Arcade was captured as a war prisoner, and Caesar is treating him like a pet. Or maybe Arcade reluctantly agreed to serve as camp doctor to the Legion because he was somehow being coerced or threatened. Maybe Caesar just wants to have someone around to talk Hegelian dialectics with, and Arcade is the only person around who actually likes reading books, so Arcade very unwillingly winds up being his conversational partner.
